villain is 20/14 over a couple hundred hands.

On the flop I was pretty sure he was on a better A or K so I just decide to call and reevaluate on the turn. When I turn 2nd and 3rd pair I feel like I'm probably ahead, but I'm not sure that many hands that I'm ahead of can call a reasonable bet on this board. I also feel like I will induce another stab from him on the river with a check behind. When the river rags off I'm in about the same position as I was on the turn, I don't think that any hands that I beat can call a raise. Really wondering if my play was too weak, thoughts on all streets appreciated.

I think its better to bet the turn, youre probably ahead and want to play a little bigger pot and if your not youve got a nice draw and want to play an even larger on the river this is only possible if you bet the turn.

I'd bet the turn here. If you get c/r that would really suck but could ultimately save you some money as you could probably fold to a c/r. I'd then bet a safe river as well and hope he's on aq/aj.

Yeah I really felt like checking the turn was bad. As played do you ever find a raise on the river?

Hi Mbolt1,
You should really raise this flop. There are 2 good reasons for this.
1) to knock out worse hands that have outs and better hands that cant stand action.
are you worried he's trying to go bet 3 bet? It's a rare line because it's hard for you to do anything on this flop without an ace but fold. so if he has a strong hand he's gonna check raise so he can at least pick up the Cbet. Given that he's not that strong (most likely a flush draw also, QJ/JT or a weak ace) raising will flush most of those hands out.
2) you're hand is very very strong, you have 13 outs to improve to 2p, trips, or a flush, and since you're gonna make a big hand almost half the time you want to have a big pot. stong hands like to play big pots. weaker hands want to play small pots. against a hand like A9o you are 51%!! If he pushes when you raise you have to call. Sure he could have 55 and you're 31%, but i explained why he shouldn't have that hand. if he pushes it's most likely a worse flush draw.
if he calls then take a free card on the turn if you dont improve and re-eval the river. you've got a big hand with a lot of equity, get that pot growing now! by just calling the flop it could be hard to get it all in if you make the nut flush. wouldnt that be a shame? by raising the flop you can get it ai by the river with normal size bets on the turn and river.

Shoot I didn't even see the flush draw. Ignore my post and just listen to rjpapp's.
