What is it?
Stox Combo is a tool that:
1) Lets you define a total range for your opponent.
2) Lets you select "groups" manually or from pre-made or custom-built conditions (which can be easily created with almost no know-how).
3) Counts the combinations of all the hands that fall into each group and weighs this against total to tell you how often your opponent holds each group and how often he holds each group in relation to the others.
For example, if you wanted to ask how often your opponent had top pair with a kicker greater than a J on a Q54 flop, or how often he had a pair and a flush draw if it was an all-hearts flop, the program will tell you.
One of the reasons this is important, besides the fact that it can give you a better intuitive understanding of how often your opponents may hold different hands in different scenarios, is that this information fills the "missing link" in a lot of people's ability to approach the game mathematically. Most poker players are away of how to do an EV calculation if they know what their opponent's hand is, or could quickly be taught if they didn't. In poker, however, we almost never know exactly what our opponent's hand is, but we do have information about what his or her range is. By breaking your opponent's range down into groups and by knowing what portion of his or her range each group is you can use EV calculations to easily solve for the best possible line.
